I am so lucky to have grown up in the US, specifically in an area with pretty decent sex education (but let's just leave it at decent). I am also privileged enough to have access to all the things that go along with having safe sex. There's just this stigma around one thing that purely bothers me and boggles my mind.
Planned Parenthood. Now whether or not you like it, Planned Parenthood does so many great things for women across this country. The organization of Planned Parenthood does so much good in so many communities, but there are so many people who don’t know exactly what that good is.
You are allowed to believe whatever you want to believe. I'm not going to try and change your view on things. But what I will do is tell you that Planned Parenthood has helped so many women (and men) in this country. From providing condoms around communities, to cancer screenings, Planned Parenthood is an organization that provides wide ranges of healthcare for men AND women.
As a young, queer-identifying woman, Planned Parenthood is an important organization to me. When I was still discovering who I was, they were able to provide me with birth control. This seriously decreased my anxiety about all things woman-related. Through this period, thanks to the birth control and other factors in my life, I was able to freely discover myself without any worry behind my adventures.
