With the recent protests of A Day Without Women and A Day Without Immigrants, many people were wondering how they would be included in the voices of the event if they weren’t able to miss work. These people still had something they wanted to say, but weren’t sure how they were going to say it, especially because many of them couldn’t afford to miss work.
Now, the women who were privileged enough to miss work in order to protest are the ones this addresses for the most part. That amount of privilege is hard to come by, and should be recognized. While most women would love to miss work and go protest for their rights, there are simply reasons why they can't.
So to those of you with privileged voices, go out there and use them, but use them with the knowledge of the privilege you have. Keep in mind that you might be representing many other women and many other voices in general.
