Now that June is upon us, it is Pride month. With this comes many anti-SJWs (anti social justice warriors) and anti-feminists, and just regular people often ask “Where is straight pride month?” or “Why aren’t there straight pride parades?”
These questions can come from a place of confusion and genuine curiosity, but they can also be genuinely harmful. So why don’t we have straight pride?
Well for one, straight people have never been scrutinized for being themselves. Fact of the matter is, all around the world, and in this country, people in the LGBT+ community are victimized and attacked daily for being who they are.
Pride is for the LGBT+ community to be themselves, and purely themselves, and be as proud as possible. That being said, if you and your straight friends want to come to pride, please do. But understand that this is our day to be loud and proud. Please don't take that from us. Straight pride is unnecessary because every day you get to be who you are and not get questioned or scrutinized.
We want people of all types to come to pride. But, please don't take the opportunity to act out and cause a scene when this is our day of celebration. All in all, we want to be able to have our fun, and you can have yours too, but we don't want anyone to hurt anyone else’s day.
