As this presidency can’t seem to move any slower, I think we need to keep our eyes on the future, and where the world is going. That being said, the history of our world is something great to learn, because that is how we learn to change things. To learn about the past is also learning how to change the future.
By being curious about the past, it grows into a curiosity about how to make the future better. Often, the people in powerful positions don't seem to realize that we are shifting towards back to where we were. A lot of our interactions these days seem to be reminiscent of times of inequality and violence. With the white supremacy riots and the constant gun violence, while the technology has changed, it seems that some of the mentalities are still around.
In order to make change, we need to understand where we came from not only as a country, but as a human race, came from. I think that change is triggered by the realization of the struggle or need for something new. Change is triggered by the human need for it.
